Aesop Rock - Zero Dark Thirty
Burning Airlines | music4autobahns Interview
I have spent a lot of time studying this bands drumming and it still fascinates me. Before that, I spent a lot of time studying the guitar and bass playing.
I owe a significant chunk of my style to what I learned from studying this band. For that reason, it’s awesome hearing J talk about what influences him and what it’s like to be part of the music industry.
He expresses a lot of the punk rock ethic: a rebellious defiance, when appropriate; an avoidance of branding; the sentiment that one’s philosophies dictate how they should live their life. And he writes incredible music. Sometimes very emotional. Sometimes mathematical. Most importantly: always creative.

Sea Graves - Bigger Than You

Another live Snake Oil song. (the song starts 42 seconds in)

Youth of Today - Make a Change
Turns out that Walter Schreifels was in Youth of Today and Gorilla Biscuits in the late ’80s. Adds interesting perspective to the lyrics that newspeedwayboogie quoted this morning:
don’t forget the struggle/don’t forget the streets/dont sell out
At the hardcore funeral I cried and cried, for the passing of a hero on the lower east side, not everybody liked him all the time, but at the Sunday matinee he filled the sky

So good. I love that GB quote too.

Office Of Future Plans - Salamander
Whoa. New band with J Robbins.
